‘Bird’s Beak’ is the term used to describe the narrowing appearance of the lower oesophagus, a deformity symptomatic of the rare condition achalasia. This condition prevents the ability to swallow.
In this series, medical X-rays of fluid passing through the body are painted with cyanotype chemistry, and left to develop in the sun. This leaves a distinct blue mark on the internal body, creating obscure, organic images, perhaps physical or botanical.
